Pedalling from venue to venue with all of their set, props and costumes on the back of their bikes, the HandleBards are a four-strong troupe of actors who are spending the summer bringing environmentally sustainable Shakespeare to venues across the UK.
Join the all-male troupe at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens for a bicycle-powered production of Shakespeare’s ‘The Comedy of Errors’ like you’ve never seen before.
When two sets of estranged twins are brought together on the same island, this classic comedy takes hold, with mistaken identity, music and manic costume changes a plenty.
Our gorgeous Walled Garden, with its amphitheater style terraces, is the perfect setting for some Shakespeare under the stars. Usually the terraces are roped off to visitors, but on theatre nights you get to enjoy the wonderful views as you picnic in style with friends and family before settling down under a cosy rug to enjoy first class theatre. The perfect combination!
We open the Walled Garden at 4:30pm for you to choose a spot and enjoy your picnic. We recommend that you bring a rug to sit on, and chairs are also permitted. We also suggest bringing warm layers and a rug as the evening draws in. You are most welcome to bring picnics and alcohol. We will be offering Wine, Sparkling Wine, Beer, ice cream and other refreshments during the evening.
