We are now fully booked for 2020 weddings, but please do get in touch if you are arranging your wedding for 2021 and beyond.
Riverhill is the perfect setting for your quirky and quintessentially English wedding. A hidden gem (we do only a handful of weddings each year) offering you the opportunity to have both the wedding ceremony and a marquee reception in the beautiful gardens - a fantastic country venue to welcome your friends and families and, should you choose to include them in your big day, even your dogs!
Come to us either after a traditional church ceremony or if you were hoping for a civil ceremony, three separate venues in the Gardens (inside and out!) are now licensed for civil wedding ceremonies; our quirky barn, 'The Garden Room' with it's overhanging gallery or perhaps 'The Himalayan Hut' overlooking the fabulous fountains in the Walled Garden. The third option is the newly-restored and wonderfully romantic 'Summerhouse', nestled on one of the formal terraces beneath the house, with one of the finest views in Kent.
Moving on to the reception, the huge terrace lawn (formally the grass tennis courts), with Riverhill House as an elevated backdrop, allows ample room for you to put up even the most elaborate of marquees, with plenty of space outside for your guests to enjoy the delightful surroundings and the magnificent views and perhaps even have a game of croquet!
Dating back to 1710, Riverhill House is a Grade 2 listed Kentish Ragstone house set within 130 acres of grounds with amazing views across rolling parkland to the Weald of Kent. A photographer's paradise, the historic grounds feature some interesting formal structures and sculptures set against rare specimen shrubs and trees. Informal planting creates both a relaxed and romantic feel to the day along with many 'wild photo' opportunities with the rolling fields, meadows and viewpoints, not to mention the horses and cattle!
Whilst our beautiful surroundings set the tone, we offer you the flexibility to create your unique wedding reception, selecting your marquee & caterer, providing your own wines and drinks, choosing your band, disco or entertainment. The suppliers on our list are 'highly recommended' but, if there is something in particular you have in mind, you are welcome to introduce us to someone new at a small additional charge.
Our package, which starts at £4,000 includes the use of Riverhill Gardens for your drinks reception and marquee wedding reception. If you would like to have your ceremony at Riverhill there is an additional £500 fee + VAT. (May - end of September*). Arrivals are from 2.30pm, with music until midnight and carriages at 12.30am. For an idea of the marquee costs, Camelot, one of our recommended suppliers, has provided a handy link www.camelotmarquees.co.uk/go/ but of course, marquee and indeed catering costs vary enormously depending your numbers and specifications.
If you think Riverhill might be what you have been looking for, please contact Sarah or Kate on 01732 459777 or firstname.lastname@example.org and we can arrange for you to come and meet us and see what Riverhill has to offer.
*'Winter Wedding Reception' options also available on our Alpine Terrace (Oct - March) - prices start from £1,500 for the hire of the terrace. Ceremonies not currently available in the winter months.
Riverhill Gardens is a photographers dream, every way you look there is a new opportunity to shoot something amazing, I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for their perfect wedding location.
